Basics & Level I - If you’re new to yoga or want a refresher, this is the place to start. You will explore the fundamentals of yoga in a supportive and safe environment. This class provides you with essentials in postures and breathing techniques that pave a solid foundation of practice while building flexibility and strength.
Level II - Build confidence and skill, while expanding your knowledge of yoga and your practice. Explore more challenging poses with greater awareness and insight. The pace of the class may vary depending on the teacher. You will be challenged and supported as your practice begins to blossom.
Cardio Flow This a faster paced flow class that focuses on heart health. You will build strength, flexibility and balance while experiencing cardiovascular benefits. Great for those with a regular yoga practice and anyone who enjoys an active lifestyle. Please consult with your physician if you have any heart issues or concerns before beginning any new exercise program.
Core Flow Emphasizing core strength, this class will challenge and tone you – from the inside out! Improve balance, flexibility, posture, and the kind of strength that doesn’t come from lifting weights or children in and out of the car. You will feel recharged and able to take on the world again.
Restorative For students of all levels who wish to relieve tension, release toxins and relax deeply. Restorative Yoga is good for conditions ranging from insomnia to chronic pain to asthma to depression. This class utilizes props like blankets and bolsters to support the body. The mind will become quiet, the body will balance and you will feel a greater sense of well-being and relaxation overall.
Lunchtime Meditation Every Friday you will be invited to explore a new practice or cultivate deeper awareness of a practice you are already familiar with. Examples of practices that may be offered are Mindfulness of Breathing, Loving-Kindness, Forgiveness, Insight, Body Scan, Mindfulness of Eating, Walking Meditation, and others. Suitable for beginners as well as experienced practitioners. All Welcome.
Meditation Tuesday nights you are invited to join us as we practice Mindfulness of Breathing and Loving-Kindness Meditations, in rotation. Learn the basics of both meditation practices that will serve to anchor and support you in life. Information will also be provided on how to set up and sustain a home practice. The studio provides zafus (meditation cushions) and comfortable chairs (for those who choose not to sit on the floor). You are also welcome to bring your own cushion. Following the sitting period, there will be tea in the Boutique and community discussion should you wish to stay.
KIDS & TEENS
Kids Yoga Children will become more confident, balanced, happy and healthy in this engaging yoga class. Aspects of Social Emotion Learning (SEL) are also woven into the class. Skills of communication, leadership, respectPlenty of music, songs, games, stories, relaxation, art and dynamic movement that promotes greater body-mind awareness…and fun!
