iRest Yoga Nidra

iRest Yoga Nidra is a modernized form of the ancient practice of Yoga Nidra. It has evolved to be an evidence based, mind-body approach to health, healing and well-being. Most often practiced lying down or sitting comfortably, this practice is accessible to all regardless of ability or state of health.

iRest Yoga Nidra is a transformative practice of deep relaxation and meditative inquiry that:

- releases negative emotions and thought patterns
- calms the nervous system
- develops a deep capacity to meet any and all circumstances you may encounter in life

Research is showing that mindfulness-based practices, such as iRest, are analogous to neural training regimens. These practices are especially effective as they appear to target brain plasticity in the areas of sensory, motor and limbic and prefrontal cortical functioning. These neural pathways are critical to fostering emotional self-regulation, ethical decision-making, resiliency, enhancement of cognitive and emotional skills, and development of empathy and well-being.
