Yoga Care – Therapeutics

Yoga Care is a gentle class that focuses on supporting the body’s natural healing capacity. Research shows yoga helps relieve stress, ease pain, improve sleep and increase overall well-being.

Students who benefit from Yoga Care are those:

– recovering from surgery or illness,
– still working with a physician or physical therapist,
– with spinal issues,
– those with chronic pain,
– under high physical or mental stress,
– senior citizens,
– those in a caregiver role,
– and anyone who needs a more therapeutically focused class.

Yoga Care combines gentle postures, breathing techniques, guided imagery, and mindfulness practices in a warm and nurturing studio.

“The combination of mind and body practices that are part of yoga
clearly have tremendous potential to help patients manage the
psychosocial and physical challenges associated with treatment
and life after cancer — beyond the benefits of simple stretching,”
-Lorenzo Cohen, Ph.D., Director,
Integrative Medicine Program at MD Anderson.

Understanding the effects that chronic illness, disease and high stress can have on the mind, body and spirit, this class will support and nourish you to a place of balance and calm.

This class is offered:
Tuesday and Thursday — 10:30AM – 11:30AM.
Saturday — 10:30AM – 11:30AM.
